January 20 My dear sisters(part1)......
to be continued......
September 14 以此献给最亲爱的honeyIn my opinion, highways should be given preferential financing.
Firstly, highways are the foundation of on-land transportation. When we are on our way to workplace in the morning, we could see the start of a new busy day. A large amount of cars are running their way one after one on advanced highways. They drive so rapidly and orderly that it just like a flow of water. Perhaps no one takes time to think about what will happen if there are no highways. But we can imagine such a picture immediately—the on-land transportation would be in a server mess. So it is easy to understand that the on-land transportation is based on highways.
Secondly, transportation system, highways in particular, lies as the basis of the social development in various aspects. In the museum, an exhibition in which you are interested in is on show, and you decided to go there so as to enjoy it; you choose a helpful course in a training center as your summer course, so you have to drive to study; the farmers have just harvest ripe bananas and the fruit needs to be carried to markets. All of these examples are selected from our daily life. They show that transportation is necessary in almost all our activities in the area of culture, education and business. As these fields are crucial to the development of the society, conclusion can be made safely that transportation is thus necessary for social development. It clearly defines the basic position of transportation in the social development. And the big role it plays in our lives would not be replaced by modern communication approaches such as internet and telecommunication. Indeed, these approaches are popular and keep growing, but a considerable part of our practices still relies on transportation system. This claim is quite evident for there are numerous examples like the above three ones existing in our everyday life. And in the transportation system, highway system is more fundamental than others. The first point I made can help explain it— highways serve as the foundation of on-land transportation which makes up the major part of the overall transportation system, so we say that transportation system, especially highways lies as the base of the social development.
Thirdly, today's major traffic problem is closely linked with the unfavorable conditions of highways, so improvements in highways meet the demand of resolving the problem comparing with public transportation. The booming of economy and technology has led to a tremendous increase of private cars. This is an inevitable tendency because it is an inevitable outcome of social progress. It indicates that there would be more and more cars day by day. However, serving as the foundation of cars, the development of highways is slower than that of private cars in some degree. Unscientific layout and supervision, as well as historical circumstances make up the major part of unfavorable conditions of highways. These elements combine together and hinder the improvement of highway system. As a result, highways lack enough capacity to carry such a large amount of cars. Problems arise immediately due to this situation with the mark of severe traffic jam. As we can’t change the tide of the times, we should keep our focus on highways to solve this urgent traffic problem. Such measures as optimizing arrangements before construction, strengthening regulation and upgrading road facilities are all viable ways with significant efficiency and effectiveness. Nevertheless, it is not able for us to achieve all these from public transportation. Fourthly, public transportation is indeed of significance for a part of the population.
It is true that purchasing private cars represents the tendency of the times, but we have to mind the fact that not everyone affords a car or prefer a car. So there is always a group of persons who don’t own cars. This group mainly consists of people who are not rich enough to buy cars and who are not fond of private cars. For this group, few traffic approaches can be adopted in terms of daily transportation. And in most cases, public transportation is an optimal choice in despite of its shortcomings. A majority of this group, therefore, choose to take public transportation. Concerning the disadvantages of public transportation, some of them can be removed through promotion in equipments whereas others can not. For instance, we can equip buses with advanced facilities to create a more comfortable environment; however, we can’t change the crowded condition in buses in busy time thoroughly. This is because this certain part of disadvantages is decided by its nature of public. Nevertheless, it is still meaningful to introduce reasonable improvements to public transportation, since what we developed in possible areas is of significance for the welfares of many people.
Fifthly, the improvement of public transportation doesn’t meet the demand of solving the major traffic problem. First of all, we can suppose that promotions of public transportation can settle our urgent traffic problem. Obviously, this supposition is proposed because we think that the developments of public transportation can reduce or at least keep the number of cars running on highways. Actually, we can not achieve this effect by simply improving public transportation. As I mentioned above, we can’t change the trend of purchasing private cars, nor can public transportation. While public transportation belongs to public services, private cars represent customized services. And people prefer customized services without doubt. That is to say, once a person gains enough money to enjoy personal services, he would do it without hesitation. However, no matter what kinds of advancements are made to public transportation, its nature will never be changed. Therefore improvements of public transportation can not impact people’s decisions of having private cars which means it wouldn’t have a bearing on the tendency of buying cars. Meanwhile, it can not attract those car-owners to take public transportation instead of their own cars. As a result, it would not reduce the amount of cars on roads. All these points have demonstrated that the basis of our supposition is not appropriate. Therefore, our supposition is a mistake, in other words, the advancement of public transportation doesn’t meet the demand of resolving the major traffic problem.
Last but not the least, because the customer group of public transportation is relatively fixed, which means there is a tiny potential market in public transportation, the investments in it may not bring up the same amount of profits. So if a comparison is made between highways and public transportation, the investments in highways turn out to be more fruitful. Besides the settlement of our major traffic problem which we can gain from the development of highways, public transportation, as part of the on-land transportation system, can also benefit from it. Now we can draw such a conclusion safely: highways should be given preferential financing comparing with public transportation. September 07 compositionIn my opinion, highways should be given preferential fiancing.
First, highways are the foundation of on-land transportation. The vehicles driving on land can be useless without highways. Can you drive your Porsche in a cornfield.
Second, highways are also the basis of economy. Since a considerable part of business still relies on traditional highway-transportation, highways play an important role in economy. For instance, lots of remote villages, mostly in developing countries, still suffer from poverty and backwardness. One of the reasons to explain their situation is that they are lack of transportation approaches, highways in particular. And that lead to mere communication between them and the outside world in terms of commerce, culture and education.
Third, With regard to today's major traffic problem, highways are efficient ways to resolve it or ease it at least. With the booming of economy, more and more people can afford private cars. As a result, an increasing number of cars present tremendous pressure to our traffic system. Traffic jam is one of the manifestations of the pressure and is, certainly, the most urgent one. How to solve it? In my opinion, regarding this issue, we should keep focused on highways. Only By enlarging the capacities of existing highways and meanwhile building new roads, together with carefully programming as well as implementation, can the problem be efficiently settled. Nevertheless, we can’t achieve all these effects from public transportation.
Fourth, public transportation is indeed of significance for part of the population. It is true that purchasing private cars represents the tendency of the times, but we have to mind the fact that there is always a group of persons who don’t own cars. For this group, maybe public transportation is the optimal choice though buses are often late and crowded and metro stations are quite far away. In other words, before they become persons who have private cars, they still take public transportation regardless of its disadvantages.
Fifth, the improvement of public transportation doesn’t meet the demand of solving traffic problem. As I mentioned in the above point, the customer group of public transportation is relatively fixed. That is, those who have cars would not take buses or metro, even if advancements of them are expanded. For whatever progress has taken place, its nature of public will never be changed. However, people now prefer customized services to public services; therefore, public transportation is not a favorable choice for this part of people who already enjoy customized services. Thus the amount of vehicles on highways will not decrease because of public transportation, so increasing input in public transportation would not solve or ease traffic jam.
Now we can come to conclusion: As a part of social welfare, the improvement of public transportation enables a certain group of people to benefit from it, however, it doesn’t make big change on the current traffic condition. Highways are serving as basics of transportation system and more importantly, of economy. By enhancing highways, our traffic problem can be solved or eased with high efficiency. September 02 数日打造masterpieceHighways or public transportation, which should be given preferential finacing?
Personally, I hold the view that highways should be given preferential finacing.
Firstly, highways are the foundation of transportation system including public transportation.
The vehicles can become useless without roads. Meanwhile, highways play an important role in the development of a city or a country for a favorable traffic condition would give a boost to the economic progress. The reason is simple, with an advanced transportation system, better communication can be made with the outside world in terms of commerce, culture, education and science, etc. Some people would argue that there are various ways of communication besides transportation. It is true our internet technology is booming, and telecommunication is growing, however, we have to mind the fact that a considerable part of our exchange rely on this traditional communication system. Most of us still need to drive to work, right? So you see, highways are unreplaceable.
Secondly, with regard to the current traffic problem, it is more efficient to improve highways rather than public transportation.
People complain about the noises coming from roads, the harmful gas emitted from cars, the congestion of highways and so on. Among all these problems, I think, traffic jam rank the top. As people begin to enjoy the fruit of our economic growth one by one, they can afford private cars and as a result, the increasing amount of private cars entail tremendous pressure on the traffic system. What's more, nowadays, having a private car has become a tendency which foretell a greater challenge on traffic in the future.
Then comes the question:how to solve the problem? In my view, enlarging the capacities of exsisting highways as well as building new highways are relatively more efficient than other approaches, though may not thoroughly. In order to improve exsisting highways, we can take such measures as promoting the road surface, upgrading road facilities, strengthening regulations, making adjustments according to different times and situations. Also to build new highways needs not only investments, but reasonable programming of the whole related region.
Thirdly, we should attach great importance to public transportation, nevertheless, it is not quite helpful on the traffic problem due to its nature or disadvantages, in some sense.
It is easy to list its shortages like it wastes our time to wait for buses or subways; its route is often not the shortest one; it is mostly very crowded in buses, and there is such a long distance between the stations and our real destinations.
I don't agree that the orgin of these shortcomings is public transportation is not fully developed, rather the orgin is its nature of 'public'. People prefer customized services, that's why they choose private cars, but not because buses or subways aren't attractile.
Therefore we can suppose even if the governments seriously make changes on public transportation, rich people still buy their cars and at the same time, those who don't have cars still take buses. Then the conclusion is the group of people who take public transportation is relatively fixed, and it means the changes on it perhaps wouldn't lead to changes on its market.
To sum up, I would say, highways are fundamental elements in a traffic system, while public transportation is another significant part of this system, since it is one of a few choices for persons don't own cars. They serve the interests of each other. However, concerning the urgent traffic problem, we focus on highways in order to resolve it efficiently.

My point: highways should be given preferential finacing.
My reasons: 1.highways are the foundation of all transportations, including public transportation.
details:1) the vehicles on land are useless without roads
examples: Can you drive your Porsche in a cornfield?
details:2) highways play an important role in the development of a city, or a country.
examples:a.in those remote villages in China, one of the most important reasons to explain their poverty is that there isn't any highway, so almost no communication could be made with the outside world in terms of culture, commerce and education.
b.As Chinese always say,' one can find a way to become rich only after the built of highways'. A considerable part of our exchage of business, information still rely on the traditional tranportation system, therefore, highways are kind of symbols for a city, even a country.
2. Concerning the current traffic problems, it is more efficient to improve highways instead of public transportations.
details:1) What's our traffic problems now? ---- Traffic jam may rank the top in my opinion.
People in China are now enjoying the fruit of development of economy, they can afford private cars, then more and more people join them, to own a private car has become a tendency in China.
Certainly,it is undeniable cars have too much advantages to be refused, however, an increasing number of private cars entail great pressure on traffic.
2) How to solve the problem? ---- To enlarge the capacities of exsisting highways and built new highways appropriately.
we can promote the road surface, upgrade road facilities, enhance regulations, and adjust the distribution of traffic according to different time and road conditions.
3. Public transportation is crucial, however, it is not quite helpful in this problem due to its disadvantages.
details:1) Its shortages: it wastes our time to wait for buses or subways; its routes are often not the nearest ones; it is crowded in buses mostly; the bus stations and metro-stations are always quite far away from where we are and our real destination, etc.
2) With all these weaknesses, public transportation is not able to attract those who own cars. Therefore, the group of people who take public transportation is relatively fixed--- most of them don't own cars. In other words, it has a mere potential market.
Even if the governments take measures to make changes regardless of the risk, the market of it is still hard to increase, for its nature of 'public'. Nowadays, people want customized services.
conclusion: public transportation is of significance in our daily life, since there are still numerous people choose to take buses or subways, and they have few other choice. However, in order to resolve traffic problem, we should focus more in highways.

Nighty Night. August 30 Highways or public transportation, which should be given preferential financing?Highways and public transportation are very crucial in a city's planning and construction. However, if we have to choose one to be given preferential finacing, maybe people all have their own reasons. In my opinion, highways are prior to public transportation.
There is a saying in China, 'To find a way to become rich, you should get highways first of all'. It's very reasonable. For highways stand for communications in some degree. In past times, these remote villages in China didn't have any highways to the outside world, people there have to stay in the small places all their lives. How can closeness like that bring exchanges to them in terms of commerce, information and products? But if there are highways, then there are ways.
In nowadays, highways play key roles in a city as an increasing amount of private cars congest all the roads. Traffic jam is a nightmare for lots of people. Most of us have experienced it. One of the causes is concerning highways including there aren't enough highways in the city and the layout of roads is not appropriate.
Therefore, building more highways with reasonable layout can meet the demand of transportation.
In China, the number of highways is increasing as its economic progress day by day, however, we still complain about the mess of our traffic as always. Why? This is because the growth of roads can never catch up that of private cars. It takes us several years to build highways, but one day, there are thousands of new cars running in roads. Public transportation is another effective measures we adopt. Government calls for citizens to take buses so as to ease the traffic pressure. However, those relatively rich people still prefer to have private cars and now more and more Chinese can afford a car. So if the government wants to attract more people to utilize public transportion, improving the transportation system is of great significance. For instance, adjusting the schedule and route of buses, sending more buses in busy times, etc.
To sum up, I mean that we should firstly have a way for veichles to drive on, then on this basis, We attach importances to both highways and public transportation in order to improve our living environment for they enhance each other.
August 29 Why people visit museums? Why people visit museums?
Almost every relatively large city has its own museum. In the museums are often the 'evidents' which can show a city or country's honorable long history, significant civilization or other well-known achievements. So museums is perhaps the first choice for a tourist who wants to learn the city or country.
What's displayed in a museum must be the essence, just like the Louvre Palace in France which is regarded as one of three great museums in the world. Those celebrated arworks such as Venus sculpture and Mona lisa painting are quite familar to us. If one day, I get a chance to visit France, Louvre is definitely the priority of my touring plan. So you see, that's the charm a fantastic museum has. We all hope someday we can stand in the front of it no matter whether we love arts or not.
The other two are the metropolian museum as well as the British museum. They are not as famous as Louvre. However, if you are going to visit US or UK, your guidance will probably recommend these museums to you. For they both play an important role in civilization of their own country. Those items on display are not just gorgeous arts, they are the country's pride wherever they were produced, people just concern where they are displayed.
Not only overseas tourist museums attracts, but also their own citizens, especially artists.
China has her own museums, the themes of them can be very different--- paintings, sculptures, architectures, historic persons, books and so on. Everyday, thousands of visitor enjoy themselves there. Parents take their young children to museum in order to educate them and give them models, teachers bring students there to demonstrate how great and beautiful our mainland is, friends meet together in museum to have an unique and fresh 'party' intead of barbecue, and artists find their inspirations there.
The above conditions are most ordinary reasons to explain why people go to museums.
I believe lots of persons haven't had experiences visiting a museum up to now, like me. And my excuses are always that I have no time, no money or I am not interested in it at all. Actually, it would not cost much time and money, and after listing the above reasons by myself, I think it should be an intereting and enjoyable place. It is now on my schedule. August 28 Is it true that media pay too much attention to the personal lives of famous people? Is it true that media pay too much attention to the personal lives of famous people?
This question is concerned by both sides.
With regard to the media today, they have to utilize the private lives of famous people in order to stimulate their circulation. Especially under the pressure that less people choose to read news. This rule is not only true to traditional media, but also the websites. That is, because, these "bamboo telegraph" can always draw the attention of people and their interests result in more clickings in the websites.
However, the condition is different among different medias, since each media has its own focus and orientation. It is beyond our imagination that the Finacial Times and Walstreet are full of pictures and articles about which hollywood superstar is falling love again or broke up again.
There are "specialists" all the time. Some certain media's sales point is the information concerning the personal lives of popular stars. Several days before, a well-know singer who is one of the members of singer group' twins' was shooted secretly during her concert in Malaysia. And at that time she was changing her underware. This event arose hot debates in Hongkong and meanwhile, the circulation of this magazine is increasing by a large margine.
In my opinion, as a famous person, sometimes you do have to sacrifice part of your privacy. And if you choose this job, you have to prepare for it. The most important is how deep can media dig into their privacy and the basis is mutual understanding. The media needs superstar, because their faces make up the entertain section; famous people needs media, because the media can spread their information throughout the world.
As I just said the popular stars have to expose part of their privacy to the general public, I don't mean I agree that media can get whatever they want. Still taking the poor girl above as an example, the media involved in this incident is just beyond the "safety level", they hurt her fundemental rights as a humanbeing in some degree. And I learned from internet that the girl have went into the police office. I heartily appreciate her courage for she knows how to protect herself and this event may bring about a more peaceful and standardized media world in HongKong at least.
I think to standardize the entertainment industry, the most crucial factor is 'regulations' which we lacked today. Just like our society can function in harmony because of laws and regulations, this messy sector also need them. August 27 Should people sometimes do things that they do not enjoy doing?Should people sometimes do things that they do not enjoy doing?
I think that maybe all of us are in face of this problem. And in most cases, the fact is that are we always able to do things we like to do.
Firstly, in nowadays world, which is full of regulations and we people have to obey them. Among these regulations, there are definetly something we do not enjoy. For instance, when you drive your car to your set destination, but there's infraconstruction taking place in the road, so the notice beside it is: please turn around and drive on another road. And unfortunately, it costs an additional one hour's drive. You could be very angry with it and perhaps curse it especially when what you're going to do is urgent. More unfortunately, you have to accept this bad situation and calm down. There're numerous examples in our daily life.
For me, taking exams is always the last thing I want to do. However, I have to face a great many of examinations in middle school. It is my nightmare when teachers come to the classroom carrying a pile of papers and say that let's have an exam right now. No matter how unfavorable this feeling is, the only I can do is taking a deep breath and smiling bitterly. Just like what Chinese say, to endure and get through painful conditions with a positive attitude.
Then comes the dilemma that sometimes the things we do not enjoy maybe helpful for us. Or in other words, these helpful things are often not so favorable and enjoyble.
To study when classmates around you are playing games is very hard for a student, but if this can push your scores on to a new lever, would you still choose it? Choices is hard to make, as always. Some people will choose it, perhaps they are going to compete with other fellows in next examination which is a decisive factor for their promising future. So, sometimes we need to do unenjoyable things.
We have heard many many times that just do as you like. That's right, and it is not conflicting with the above words. We can choose what we like to do, however, in this process it is possible you will do what you don't like. You may now learn to play piano, that's exactly what you love, but you can't enjoy every minute of the seemingly endless practices, or the dull finger practices. Or you have to play in front of other people and you are such a shy guy that you're afraid of showing before audiences, but you still have to do, right? If you decides to be a great pianist.
You see, life is beautiful because it gives us roses as well as throns, or we feel happyness as well as sadness. The things you do not enjoy can be quite crucial. So just enjoy everything and cheer you up.
